MNAs IN PAKISTAN ARE SO POOR, THEY DO NOT OWN A CAR
Believe it or not — they don’t own a car

ISLAMABAD: Almost 100 members of the National Assembly including those known for being fabulously rich do not have any conveyance of their own.
Their declaration of assets as notified by the Election Commission exposes the financial strength, if one tends to believe their returns, of the Chaudhrys, Soomros, Pirs, Gilanis, Qureshis, Sardars, Mirs, Achakzais, Rajas, Fatianas, Nakais, Wattos, Mengals and many others of the country’s elite.
It really looks unbelievable when the likes of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Humayun Akhtar Khan, Aftab Ahmad Sherpao, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Muhammad Nasir Khan, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Raza Hayat Hiraj declare “solemnly” that they don’t have a car to drive.
A total of 13 MNA ministers and ministers of state are included in the list of those having no conveyance.
Even some opposition members who are considered well-off like Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s Mian Muhammad Aslam, Pakistan People’s Party-Parliamentarians’ Raja Pervez Ashraf, MMA’s Hafiz Suleman Butt, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, etc, also fall in the same category of MNAs.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Maulana Fazlur Rehman also say that they don’t own any car. Amongst the women MPs, besides several others, Dr Attiya Inayatullah and Kashmala Tariq have also declared to have no vehicle.
The Election Commission declaration bound members of the National Assembly to declare not only their own assets but also the assets of their spouses and dependent children.
Amongst the ministers and ministers of state the “car-less” brigade includes Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Humayun Akhtar Khan, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Maj (retd) Tahir Iqbal, Dr Sher Afgan, Wasi Zafar, Muhammad Nasir Khan, Ijazul Haq, Ghaus Bux Khan Mahar, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana and Muhammad Raza Hayat Hiraj.
Begum Shahnaz Shaikh had a car but sold it.

Such minority members of the National Assembly are M P Bhandara, Professor Mushtaq Victor, Krishan Bheel and Devdas Shagman.
As against the above there are two Maulanas — Maulana Abdul Malik and Maulana Merajuddin — who have no assets but a car each.

To allow the import of spare parts used for all types of cars
The government spokesman, Ali al-Dabbagh said the Cabinet decided to approve the amendment to its resolution adopted at its eleventh session in 2006/4/27 and the judge to prevent the import of materials used and the backup to allow the import of spare parts used for all types of cars and limited to prevent the import of cars dismantled structures only. The al-Dabbagh told a news briefing that the approval of the amendment comes from the government's keenness to provide alternative tools and spare parts for all vehicles to ensure the work and productivity, including in particular the fact that the country needed to facilitate the work of the mechanization of agriculture and production. Dabbagh said that the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (17) for the year 2005, which defined the saloon car models and productivity allowable import does not include farm vehicles and construction as the import is allowed from the 1991 model or older and that this equipment certainly need to be backup tools may not have the new ones being Old models are therefore rely on the instruments used in this case.

أعلن الناطق الرسمي باسم الحكومة علي الدباغ أن مجلس الوزراء قرر الموافقة على تعديل قراره المتخذ في جلسته الحادية عشرة في 2006/4/27 والقاضي بمنع استيراد المواد الاحتياطية المستعملة والسماح باستيراد قطع الغيار المستعملة لجميع أنواع السيارات وقصر منع الاستيراد على هياكل السيارات المقطعة فقط. وأشار الدباغ في تصريح صحفي الى أن الموافقة على التعديل تأتي من حرص الحكومة على توفير أدوات بديلة وقطع غيار تضمن عمل جميع المركبات والانتاجية منها على وجه الخصوص لأن البلد بحاجة الى المكننة التي تيّسر عمل الزراعة والإنتاج. وأوضح الدباغ أن قرار مجلس الوزراء المرقم (17) لسنة 2005 الذي حدد بموجبه موديلات السيارات الصالون والإنتاجية المسموح باستيرادها لم يشمل المركبات الزراعية والانشائية حيث ان استيرادها مسموح من موديل 1991 فما فوق وأن هذه المعدات بالتأكيد تكون بحاجة الى أدوات احتياطية ربما لا يتوفر الجديد منها لكونها موديلات قديمة لذا يتم الاعتماد على الأدوات المستعملة في هذه الحالة.
